4 sizes Onion baskets and one Garlic basket |
Life has changed for me this year and it's all good. I am by no means "doing well", but I am fine with that and happy with what I have. I am doing "much, much better". I do need to restock supplies to ensure that I'll have enough baskets for opening day at the market, but I trust that things will happen for me - in good time - because they always seem to do just that - one way or another.
I've done more basket weaving than I usually do at this time of year. Typically, I procrastinate until opening day of the Hillsboro Farmer's Market is maybe two weeks away (first Saturday in May). Then I plant myself in front of the TV (my shame) and weave 16 hours a day until I run out of fiber rush. I usually find myself doing the price tags late at night on the first Friday of May, but I've kept up with that, too. In fact, I started so early, that I ran out of fiber rush in early March - makes it so easy to fill Etsy orders, which have been chipping away at my stock - but I'm not complaining.

Ribbed baskets from my Etsy store... |
Life
has changed in the past year and it's been a great year for us, for our home and for Basketry Botanica. My yard looks good. We will actually have gardens this year, instead of planting veggies in pots.Gene got 2 raised beds built and filled with composted soil. It's a start and it's sure a lot more than I could have done when I was on my own. I used to get forms from the management office about my yard or needed repairs for the house - got several every year. I haven't seen any of those for close to two years, because Gene gets things done around here. We both do....
